Solar Rebate Program
Austin Energy's Solar Rebate Program helps you implement solar technology in your home or business. The program offers rebates that help offset the cost of a solar photovoltaic electric system.
Austin Energy offers one of the highest solar rebates in the country at $5 per watt. This rebate level will pay between 50% and 80% of the cost of installation of a solar system.
For a residence, the cost of installation of a 1-kilowatt (1,000 watts) solar system, the smallest considered practical, is expected to cost between $6,000 and $10,000. The Austin Energy rebate ($5 x 1,000 watts) will pay $5,000 toward the installation.
